Grimm's dwarfs are perfect inhabitants for all building blocks and fit to all Grimm's vehicles.  A dwarf is also a fantastical companion and talisman through exams for everyone.

Grimm's dolls are made in Europe in the traditional handcraft method.  The dear faces are also painted by hand, giving each doll a unique expression.

Cleaning: Please only clean our dolls with hand wash. Please be careful by washing the face. The colours of the face are water-resistant, but they can fade.

Made using Nicky velour and cotton, lined with polyester wool.  Only certified fabrics according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 are used for these dolls.

Approximate height is 7 cm.  Please note that dolls do not freely stand on their own, but usually require being propped up just a little.

Attention! Not suitable for children under three years.  Risk of choking.  Small parts.

This is an original 'From Jennifer' design that combines tracing and counting into a learning toy/tool for children.  It can help one learn how to form their Chinese numbers correctly and learn what each number represents.  This is a maple hardwood board engraved with gently curved grooves, providing a form to trace with either your finger or the included tracing stick.

Measures 10.5 x 7.5-inches and is 1/2" thick.

Please keep in mind that small wooden balls can pose a choking hazard for young children, so it is recommended to use the balls with children only over the age of 3 years old.  The maker did hear back from one customer that instead of using the balls, she put dry breakfast cereal in their place.  The maker suggests they even think it would be fun with raisins, chocolate chips, etc.  Many others have used beads, small stones, and even flower petals to fill the dimples and large tracing numbers of the board.

The numbers side is the side of the board with large numbers and grooves that you will trace to feel the motion of writing each number.  You may also enjoy doing crayon rubbings of the numbers or filling their grooves with the balls from the counting side (or other things such as beads, stones, etc).

GRAPAT provides material without instructions, open-ended and autonomous play. Their only premise is to let children play, slowly, without time limits. Grapat hand crafts materials that encourage, invite and stimulate the creation of invented little worlds. Grapat is made following traditional processes, in the old way, with thick soft raw materials, natural dyes which let the wood veins be seen and vibrant coloured waxes and oils that slightly shine. The products are painted by hand, homemade, surrounded by nature and many children nearby that inspire the makers daily.

The wood we use comes from sustainable forests. Grapat uses beech and birch. Wood is the source that inspires us daily. It is robust, soft and hard, it is warm, it sounds good and it smells good.

The dyes are based on water and non-toxic that comply with the European safety regulations of the Toy EN / 71-3: 2014 + A1: 2014 / 2013. Working with dyes and not with acrylic paints allows Grapat to continue having contact with the wood. The dye does not jump from the wood when it falls to the ground or when time passes because it penetrates deep inside the piece. Sometimes it can happen that by an excess of pigments some piece loses some colour when coming in contact with the saliva, no problem, they are absolutely safe and non-toxic.

Grapat workshop is located in the countryside, and being close to nature can make some tones and colours have variations. Depending on the humidity or if there is wind the dye can impregnate one way or another in the wood. The finishes are made with waxes and oils of vegetable origin. The oils can have a strong aroma at first, but it loses it with the days. We love it!

Each piece that passes through Grapat’s hands is unique. Each one is painted by hand. And since from Grapat we defend the value of nature, we accept imperfection. It is beautiful and makes the material even more valuable. The cloth bags that are included in some of the products come from big companies that discard material when they have a small defect. As Grapat produces the bags by hand they can take advantage of them by removing those defects and giving them a second life. The fabrics vary and do not match with the photos of the products.

Care Instructions: If you clean Grapat wood products only use a damp cloth. Do not submerge in water and do not use disinfectant or hot water.

This is a Reversible Board--meaning you receive one board but with both sides engraved. One side will have large tracing numbers on it. The other side will have the sections of dimples for counting balls. Photo shows both sides (just know that it is one board).

Our 11-20 Reversible Board is a combination of learning to write numbers while identifying their value. Tracing the smooth grooves of the large numbers builds muscle memory for children as they learn to write on their own. Filling the dimples with wood balls (or beads, snacks, stones, shells, etc) matches the number of items to the written numeral.

When a child is learning numbers, just showing them the number 12 doesn’t mean they understand what it represents. By using this board, your child then sees the relationship between what the number looks like and how many objects are included with it. Even after your child has learned numbers, they can use the board for more activities. Here are some ideas for learning through play…

• DISCOVER: Grouped into columns of five, your child will easily recognise the number through a glance rather than counting one by one. Number 11 is two groups of five plus one more. Or ten and one more. Following the same thinking, see how 14 is ten and four more? What's the difference between the top row and bottom row? The additional row of five for every number. So now you see how 12 plus 5 equals 17. Top row plus five equals number beneath it. What about adding the bottom with the top from either side: 11+20=31, 12+19=31, 13+18=31, 14+17=31, and 15+16=31? Isn’t is fun finding all the different combinations?!

• TRACE: Demonstrate for your child where to begin tracing and which lines to follow. Use your fingers or the tracing stick. Practice with your dominant hand and for fun, try tracing with your non-dominant hand. With eyes closed, have your child randomly find a number to trace on the board and identify what it is based on the feeling.

• FILL: Place small items into the grooves to fill up each number, another way to focus in on their shapes and keep little hands busy. An activity of concentration, follow through, and creativity. Use dry foods such as beans, corn, grain, flaxseeds, herbs, and rice. Use nature such as flower petals, leaves, sticks, stones, sand, and shells. Use snacks such as cereal, raisins, pretzels, crackers. Use art materials such as bells, beads, pompoms, pipe cleaners, and jewels.

• RUB: Place a sheet of paper over the board (either side) and use a crayon to rub the paper, creating an impression of the board onto the paper. Then trace inside the lines on the paper or color in the dots.

• MOLD: Press play dough into the board to create impressions of the numbers and dimples. Numbers will come out backwards, but then use scissors to cut around them and have numbers to move around for playing. Roll balls of dough to place in the counting side. Then squash each ball with the tracing stick as you count them.

• Most important of all, have fun!
