Ostheimer decoration Scarves help to transform a child's room, various play scenes or a seasonal decoration into beautiful, lively landscapes. The transparent appearance of the cotton scarves make it easy to create various combinations and colour shades.
100% cotton gauze. Individual cloths are approximately 90 x 90 cm squares.
The Fairy Tale set includes: carmine red; pink; Prussian blue; olive green; fir (forest) green.
Our decoration cloths are made in a small factory in Poland near Walbrzych / Waldenburg in Silesia. The cotton fabric is woven in Poland and delivered to the factory as bales. There, the cloths are cut to a size of 1 x 1 metre and then sewn, dyed and washed.
Colouring may cause slight colour variations as the colours are remixed for each production lot.
When sewing, dyeing and washing, the cloths can change a little and so it can sometimes lead to size variations in the fine, loosely woven fabric. Due to the production by hand, the deviations cannot be avoided, but it is part of the uniqueness of these handmade scarves. Please note that 90 x 90 cm dimensions as given are therefore approximate.
Made in Poland.
Wood contains tannins that have a natural antibacterial effect.
However, if cleaning is necessary, for example if it is heavily soiled, then Ostheimer recommends:
Use lukewarm water, possibly with a little diluted vinegar or a splash of ecological washing-up liquid (liquid dish detergent).
Gently rub the surfaces with a soft, clean cloth or sponge.
Lightly sand natural wood figures (not painted figures) in heavily soiled areas with 120 grit sandpaper.
After cleaning, rub the toy with a soft cotton cloth and let it air dry.
Nest Notes: Ostheimer items are known for being very smoothly sanded; however, should you ever encounter a rough spot or edge, you can use the 'brown paper bag trick', where you rub a brown paper bag just a little bit vigorously, and it acts as a very, very fine sandpaper that generally does not affect the colour.
